FAQ: Brunelleschi Pass

The Brunelleschi Pass is the most comprehensive ticket for the Duomo complex in Florence. One purchase gives you access to all the main sights on the Piazza del Duomo:

  • Brunelleschi's dome (with time window)
  • The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore
  • The excavations of Santa Reparata
  • Giotto's bell tower
  • The Baptistery of San Giovanni
  • The Museo dell'Opera del Duomo

With this one pass, you can experience all the highlights of Cathedral Square at your own pace - without individual bookings or long queues.

The Brunelleschi Pass is valid for three consecutive calendar days from the first admission. This means that if you visit an attraction for the first time on Monday, for example, you can use all other attractions up to and including Wednesday - flexibly distributed.

Yes - the ascent to the dome is the only program item with a mandatory time slot. This must be selected when purchasing the pass. Access is not possible without a reservation. For all other attractions, you can choose the times you wish to visit within the validity period.

Most of the attractions at Piazza del Duomo are open every day - except the cathedral, which is closed on Sundays.

You can find the specific opening hours here: duomo.firenze.it

The official website of the cathedral administration offers the Brunelleschi Pass at a slightly lower price - but it is often sold out weeks in advance. In addition, online registration with personal details is required, which makes the booking process unnecessarily complicated.

However, we generally recommend buying from the official website. If the Brunelleschi Pass is no longer available there, you can switch to Tiqets or Get Your Guide.

No - once the time slot has been selected at the time of purchase, it is binding and cannot be changed. Rebooking or refunds are also not possible. You should therefore plan your visit time with a little buffer, especially if you arrive on the same day.

No - the Brunelleschi Pass is personal and non-transferable. Refunds for non-use or missed time slots (e.g. for the dome) are also excluded. Third-party providers such as Tiqets may have more customer-friendly cancellation conditions - please check before booking.

If you want to visit all the attractions on the pass, you should plan at least 3 to 4 hours - ideally spread over two days. For the dome ascent and the bell tower, you will need to allow for waiting and walking times. The museum and the Baptistery, on the other hand, are also suitable for bad weather or as the end of a day visit.

This is not recommended in the high season. The contingents available on site are the same as those displayed on the official website. We therefore strongly recommend booking the pass online in advance and reserving the dome time slot directly.

Yes - there are reduced prices for children and young people on the official website. External ticket platforms do not differentiate according to the age of the traveler.
